We regularly water our plant with a full bucket in hand and a mug in other. We pour water one by one in each and every pot. Wherever the pot is, we try to reach everyone. We spent almost an hour giving water. Sometimes twice a day when it’s hot and dry. We repeat the same again for adding liquid fertilizer. We can ease ourselves from daily burden with quite a easy way. Let me introduce you to Drip Irrigation system. It a system where we can provide water to each and every pot with a single turn of tap, wait for 10 min and watering plant will be done. We can configure it with the IoT (Internet of Thing)and can start and stop it from anywhere in the world.
Drip Irrigation system is a system where we use a water hose main pipe, feeder pipe, dripper(drip emitter), emitter stakes and connectors (mainline to feeder, T connectors , straight connectors and elbow connectors). We connect a main line with a tap using a tap connector and we puncture the main line to connect a feeder pipe. We need to arrange the puncture so that we can easily reach the pot. At the end of the feeder line we need to attach the emitter spike and the drip emitter. We need to poke the spike in the pot soil near the plant. That’s it. Do the same for all the pots and try to reach all the pots. If you search online there are kits available depending on the no. of pots. However, if you think it is not sufficient for your house you can go for a bigger kit.
To change it to automatic and controlled over the internet you can attach a separate tank and motor with wifi switch and can achieve it. There are devices available for a timely start and stop motor. However I did it differently. I did it using IC(NODEMCU) and the setup is under Test. Will provide more details in a different post with images and automatic setup. Thanks.
